This team provides IT products and services to support and drive the strategic initiatives and optimization opportunities for their customers.? Develops solutions in collaboration with and under the oversight of the corporate solutions team management.? Partner with functional business teams and lead change management activities as customers are impacted by these solutions.?ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Manage IT solutions staff; prepare personnel appraisals for direct reports and make recommendations for advancement and improvements.
  • Create strategic plans and objectives for the solutions team.
  • Engage regularly with senior site leadership to understand opportunities for improved efficiencies and cost reduction through the provision of IT solutions and services.
  • Provide regular management reports on the section?s activities, including monthly performance statistics, costs and change management control.?
  • Contribute to and support the long-term global strategic roadmap for operations customers.
  • Ensure the Corporate System Development and Project Management methodologies are used for all significant development projects, including the creation of AFEs and Project Initiation Reports where necessary.
  • Comply with all Newmont global and local Policies and Procedures. Performance in regard to IT Policies and Procedures will be specifically rated in each annual performance review.
  • Apply Change Management procedures to all areas and ensure that subordinates strictly adhere to the CM procedures.?
  • Participate in all Sarbanes-Oxley compliance audits and ensure that tasks supporting compliance are routinely documented and completed.?
  • Coordinate the activities of their IT section, and instruct, direct and oversee major projects ensuring that all are cost-justified and prioritized.
  • Ensure that appropriate monitoring processes and procedures are in place to provide system availability according to agreed service levels.
  • Maintain a close liaison with all major technology providers and monitor their performance in support of IT.?
  • Participate in Newmont global forums, as required.
  • Develop, update and routinely test business continuity plans as required to adequately protect all solutions.
  • Coordinate with other Newmont sites to communicate development activities.
  • Actively engage business unit stakeholders to identify current business processes, document business and functional requirements, analyze and communicate solutions and support the implementation of the solution.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in respective business processes and identify process improvement areas.
  • Identify business process re-design opportunities and develop recommendations in collaboration of global operations team leaders and staff.
  • Drive process innovation to deliver greater organizational efficiency
  • Participate in the standardization of processes and facilitate sharing of best practices.
  • Facilitate sessions in business process analysis, process redesign, problem solving, and consensus building in support of continuous process improvement activities.
  • Identify and document standard operating procedures and system documentation.
  • Work with change management team to identify job impacts, developing project communications, and ensuring adoption of organization and process changes.
  • Escalate issues and manage timely resolution of issues.
  • Review new technology solutions, evaluate ability to meet business requirements and develop interface and implementation strategies.
  • Keep up to date with computer technology and be prepared to contribute to planning sessions on potential technology initiatives.
  • Ensure the transfer of technology to subordinate employees and the promotion and support of employee training and skill development.

TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:

  • B.S. degree and a minimum of ten years experience with business systems & technology.?
  • Experience preferred with Ellipse.
  • Good working knowledge of Windows Office products.
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Has an understanding of service level agreements and metrics relative to their department.
  • Skilled at issue resolution.
  • Have an overall understanding of the objectives and functions of the business.??
  • Project Management experience.
  • Demonstrated Supervisory experience.
